The 35CrMoV steel sleeve (subject to dynamic balance test) in the plate and strip mill is a key component for high-speed and high-precision rolling, which requires high strength, wear resistance and dynamic balance performance.

Strip mill roll system
Work roll/support roll bearing sleeve: cold/hot rolled strip mill (such as stainless steel, carbon steel and copper-aluminum strip) for high-speed rolling (linear speed ≥ 10m/s), bearing alternating load and impact vibration.
Dynamic balance requirements: dynamic balance test shall be carried out when rotating speed exceeds 500rpm (residual unbalance ≤ 1g · cm/kg) to avoid bearing failure or uneven thickness of plate and strip caused by vibration during high-speed rotation.
High precision rolling
Backing bearing sleeve for six-high/20-high rolling mill is required to have dimensional stability (roundness ≤ 0.02mm) to ensure the accuracy of shape control.
Heat Treatment Process of 35CrMoV Steel Sleeve of Plate and Strip Mill (Dynamic Balance Test)
Hardening and tempering treatment (core process)
Quenching: 880-900 ℃ oil quenching after austenitization (large section needs water quenching+oil cooling dual medium quenching), ensure hardness HRC 45-50.
High-temperature tempering: heat preservation at 600-650 ℃ for 3-5 hours to obtain tempered sorbite, with tensile strength ≥ 1100MPa and impact energy ≥ 50J.
Stress relief annealing
Heat preservation for 4 hours at 620 ℃ after rough machining to eliminate machining stress (prevent dynamic balance failure).
Surface strengthening (optional)
Ion nitriding: surface hardness ≥ HV 1000, carburizing layer 0.3-0.5mm, reducing friction coefficient (applicable to cold rolled sleeve).
